SNAP-vista for protein detection in gels

SNAP-vista products provide a very convenient and simple alternative to performing a Western blot. They allow the specific detection of SNAP-tag fusion proteins directly on an SDS-PAGE gel.

SNAP-tag fusion proteins present in samples (even in crude lysates) are specifically labeled in a 20 minute, single reagent reaction prior to loading the gel. The fluorescently labeled protein is detected in the gel by UV-transillumination (SNAP-vista Blue, SNAP-vista Green) or by a gel scanning system with 488nm or 633/650nm excitation (SNAP-vista Green,  BG-647 respectively).
