SNAP-tag is ideal for one-step covalent immobilization of proteins on resin beads and biosensor chips. Since the SNAP-tag self-immobilization reaction is highly specific, the tagged protein can be immobilized directly from lysate, without prior purification. The protein is captured under biological conditions in a directed manner through the tag, protecting the activity of the protein of interest and leaving it free to interact in subsequent experiments. SNAP-capture products contain substrates designed for immobilization of SNAP-tag fusion proteins on Sepharose resin, magnetic agarose beads, and biosensor surfaces, making these products particularly suitable for protein purification, pull-down applications, and further protein interaction studies. |
