Covalys was founded in July 2002 by Christoph Bieri, Kai Johnsson, Andreas Brecht, Maik Kindermann, Nils Johnsson, Patrik Sidler, and Henri Zinsli. Covalys' diverse founder group combines a broad scientific background with extensive business and industry experience.
Financed in October 2003 by a group of Venture Capitalists, Covalys launched its operations in November 2003 at the start-up incubator "Technologiezentrum Witterswil" close to Basel. Here, a dedicated team is working on the development and production of tools for protein research.
Covalys' first products based on the SNAP-tag technology were launched in December 2004. Since then we have continued to broaden the product range to expand the applications potential of this versatile technology. |
